The charm of Kings Bakery Cafe lies not only in its variety but also in the quality and authenticity of its offerings. The bread here isn’t just food; it’s an experience that evokes homey brunches or decadent bread puddings made from delicious leftovers.

It’s bakery authenticity at its finest—no pretenses, just consistently great products.

Grab a tray and tongs and go to town on French bread, cocktail buns made of milk bread and filled with a buttery coconut, concha, and a cookie. Service with a smile. Perfect for a brunch at home. Leftover sweet bread makes a ravishing bread pudding
The bread tastes fresh and delicious! The prices are very reasonable. Great value for money!
Home of the Chinese concha. I found this hidden little gem by accident. Lucky me.I wish this bakery was in my neighborhood.
Great selection of pastries. Grab a tray and go nuts- everything is fresh and reliably good. Sweet buns are a special experience in subtlety. Coffee is just ‘fine’, as it should be for this establishment- it’s not some ‘3rd wave coffee shop’ or whatever. Glad to have discovered this excellent bakery.
They have great French Bread. They’re especially good when the bread were just freshly baked and hot out of the oven. It’s been a long time since I’ve had their bread. I think the price used to be 25 cents a piece, years ago. Now, they are 40 cents a piece, but that price still beats the prices you pay for French Bread from other places. If you love eating bread with butter, you need to try King’s Bakery Cafe’s French Bread with your favorite butter (or try Darigold, Challenge, or Straus, which I recommend).
Grew up in the Bay Area of Daly City and it continues to stay in heart and soul no matter where I am physically living my connection will always be pulling me back anywhere in the Bay. Kings Bakery was introduced to me my daughter's abuelita Alicia S.(R.i.P.) and til this day I continue to shop for the most delicious coconut buttery bread roll to take back home for my family. It's always and will be included in my return visit agenda.
Kings Bakery Cafe is now my favorite Mission Street bakery for traditional Mexican pastries. Compared to the 3 larger bakeries near 24th & Mission, Kings has everyone beat by selection, price, and seating. The owners are Asian and the decor reflect their cultural heritage. The Cafe has no bathroom or sink, but has 4 small tables with chairs. The Cafe has cold beverages but the coffee is not quality. If you like Mexican Bolillos (baby baguette) that are fresh and warm then this is your place.
Just found the closest thing to “Fiji cream buns” at Kings Bakery and I couldn’t be happier! The bread is unbelievably fresh, and the cream filling hits the perfect balance — not too sweet and not overloaded. A solid 10/10. Total nostalgia in every bite!
